You cannot earn your way to heaven Salvation is a free gift from God. There is nothing you can do to save yourself. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourself, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 However, when you are saved put it to good works "For we are His(Jesus) workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 What the Bible says; "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. And without faith it is impossible to please Him(God Jesus), for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:1-3,6 BELIEVE BY FAITH "Jesus said to him, 'Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed." John 20:29 Faith without works is dead
“For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead…Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being by itself… But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?… What use is it, my brethren, if a man says he has faith, but he has no works?”
James 2:26, 17, 20, & 14
FAITH WORKING THROUGH LOVE
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love… They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed”
…”But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves… an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless… and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”
1 Cor. 13:2; Titus 1:16, Galatians 5:6; James 1:22, 25 & 26
GLORIFY GOD
“If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God… Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were, the utterance of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
1 Peter 4:16,11
DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION
“And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong… But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but let your yes be yes, and your no, no; so that you may not fall under judgment.”
1 Peter 3:13-17 & James 5:12
A LIVING AND HOLY SACRIFICE, ACCEPTABLE TO GOD
“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship… Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you… Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.”
Romans 12:1; 1 Timothy 4:14, & 1 Peter 4:19
